About Us
Learn about RMCN’s mission, vision, and the Rohingya women leaders driving change for our community.
The Rohingya Maìyafuìnor Collaborative Network (RMCN) is a women-led, refugee-led civil society organization advancing human rights, justice, and community resilience for the Rohingya people.
Our Story
RMCN was founded by a collective of Rohingya women with lived experience of displacement, violence, and statelessness. After witnessing how international responses often excluded Rohingya women’s voices and expertise, the founders came together to lead change from within the community.
RMCN was built to move beyond the narrative of Rohingya as passive recipients of aid. We exist to center Rohingya leadership, promote sustainable solutions, and ensure that those most affected are shaping the response.
Our work is rooted in lived experience, community trust, and an unwavering commitment to justice.
Our Vision
A future of dignity, justice, and empowerment for the Rohingya people — where our community thrives with safety, equal rights, and self-determination.
Our Mission
- Promote Rohingya-led responses to the complex challenges faced across Southeast Asia
- Advocate for justice and gender equality through an intersectional, rights-based approach
- Strengthen community resilience through education, skills development, and humanitarian support
- Amplify women’s leadership to ensure meaningful participation in political and humanitarian decision-making
Our Core Values
Intersectional Justice
We center the unique experiences of Rohingya women and children in all human rights advocacy.
Lived Experience Leadership
We recognize survivors of genocide and displacement as the most qualified to lead community solutions.
Translocal Solidarity
We build cross-border partnerships to support Rohingya communities and diaspora globally.
Resilience & Integrity
We act with courage, transparency, and accountability to reclaim our narrative and demand justice.
Rohingya Women’s Leadership
At RMCN, we believe when women lead, solutions reflect lived realities and community priorities.
Our leadership team brings regional language proficiency including Thai, Bahasa Melayu, Burmese, Urdu and Rohingya — enabling us to bridge communication gaps between displaced communities and global decision-makers.
By leading from the front lines, we transform the perception of Rohingya women from marginalized refugees to powerful advocates, negotiators, and agents of change.
