RMCN conducted a high-level advocacy mission to Ottawa, Canada, engaging parliamentarians and policymakers on the crisis in Myanmar and the situation facing Rohingya communities.
Yasmin and Noor Azizah delivered statements at a press conference at Canadian Parliament House, urging the Canadian government to stand with the Rohingya in addressing the genocide and ensuring accountability for those responsible.
They called for:
- Inclusion of Rohingya voices in the NUG
- Stronger support for Rohingya displaced across ASEAN
- Accountability mechanisms for armed groups across Burma/Myanmar
- A firm stance from ASEAN against genocide
Joined by Senator Marilou McPhedran, Samantha McGavin of Inter Pares, and Professor John Packer, they collectively called for justice, dignity, and accountability for the Rohingya people.
