Meera’s Pavilion and Photo Exhibition at the Customs House Forecourt in Sydney, Australia was an immersive installation created with Rohingya artists and communities that highlights the heritage, resilience, and struggles of the world’s largest stateless population.
Created in partnership with MSF (Doctors Without Borders), the installation was co-designed over three years with Rohingya communities in Sydney, Cox’s Bazar, and Kuala Lumpur. It features Rohingya symbols, stories, and artistic traditions.
The program included:
- Workshops and youth advocacy training
- Educational activities
- A film festival
- Panel discussions
The title draws from the Rohingya proverb “Hoñsu Fathar Faaní” (“We are like water on a taro leaf”), reflecting the precarious reality of statelessness.
