Sajidah Sultan

Media and Communications Specialist

Sajidah Sultan is a young and dynamic Rohingya director whose journey embodies resilience, creativity, and pride in her heritage. Born in Malaysia and raised in the United States, she was just seven years old when her family became one of the first three Rohingya families to be resettled in Chicago.

Since the age of eleven, Sajidah has been a self-taught photographer, capturing the world through her lens — from the towering skyscrapers of Chicago to the quiet countryside that offers her peace and reflection. She finds joy in exploring new places, languages, and cultures, and speaks Rohingya, Urdu/Hindi, Malay, English, as well as some Spanish and Arabic.

As the Media and Communications Specialist at RMCN, Sajidah uses storytelling, photography, and digital platforms to highlight Rohingya voices and preserve their narratives of resilience and hope.

Expertise: Media, storytelling, and digital communication.
