Specialist in Community Wellbeing and Healing
Umama is an 18-year-old Specialist in Community Wellbeing and Healing Through Creative Expression with the Rohingya Maìyafuìnor Collaborative Network.
Despite her young age, Umama brings a deeply thoughtful, care-centred approach to supporting individual and collective healing through creative, culturally grounded practices, including art, storytelling, and reflective expression. Her work is rooted in trauma-informed principles and a strong commitment to creating safe, dignified spaces where communities — particularly women and young people — can process grief, preserve memory, and build resilience.
Through her role with RMCN, Umama contributes to women-led, community-rooted initiatives that centre wellbeing, healing, and intergenerational strength alongside justice and advocacy.
